Bueller. This is a quote from one of my all time favorite movies, Ferris Buellers Day Off.
In the movie, three very different friends skip school for the day, and explore the city of Chicago.
Each one of them had a very different experience. There was Cameron, who always tried to avoid trouble at any cost. He spent the day being worried and nervous because he was out of his comfort zone. Sloane, who always went with the flow, enjoyed her day and was calm no matter what happened. Then there was Ferris, who took all of the risks he could, and was always positive and outgoing. Something that I noticed in sixth grade about myself, was that I liked to control everything. In the movie, Cameron is trying to control Ferris so that no one will get in trouble. This made me feel more secure, and it made me want to try to get straight A’s. When I think of my 6th grade self, I think of shy and insecure Cameron from Ferris Bueller’s Day off because I too felt that way.
In seventh grade, I resembled Sloane, Ferris Bueller’s easy going girlfriend. I, like Sloane, was very calm and relaxed. I didn’t sweat the little things. I knew to be patient in my classes and flexible with my schedule.Also that year, I became a bit lazy and unconcerned about myself and my classes. My grades began to slip and I became even less confident in myself then i was the year before. I started to hide myself in sweatshirts every day and stayed home a lot on the weekends. I knew this was not a good road I was on and that I needed to start thinking differently. I needed to be more positive about myself, my school, and my social life.
By 8th grade, I decided to make a change. I needed to channel my inner Ferris Bueller. In
