Personal Narrative: Friday Night Football Competition

As the sun set down below the horizon and the cool, fall breeze that surrounded us settled, the lights brightened the field from endzone to endzone. The general hate for one another on opposing sideline was unmeasurable. Electricity and tension of the Friday night football environment could be felt from the bleachers as we were set to face off against our park rivals, Canton High School. All sorts of emotions and feelings flooded my body when I took the field for our first offensive series and made me feel as if I was weightless. The game went on and was a great defensive game on both sides. It wasn’t until the third quarter when I broke out a 60-yard touchdown run that we were able to tie the game at 14 a piece.
