Personal Narrative High School Prom

In 1986, I attended Fort Vancouver High School and this year was my senior year. In the spring, there was a memorable and unforgettable dance that took place. This dance was the Senior Prom and was the highlight of the year. I had a boyfriend that did not attend my school and we met in early morning Seminary class. However, this year, my boyfriend, Michael Larsen, had made some wrong choices with his employment and was not able to attend the prom. To resolve his wrong choices, Michael was scheduled to work during the same time as the prom. I was devastated when I heard the news and we both agreed that I should still attend the prom with another guy friend from seminary. The next day I called up Scott Inman and he was ecstatic that I would …show more content…
His excuse was that he forgot that he promised another gal to his prom. My thought is how do you forget that? Whatever, why do guys do that? I was devastated again since, I had made plans with my friends and spent time with my mom making my prom dress. With all this drama happening, I was wondering if I was even going to attend my senior prom. That same day my brother, Gary Hollingshead, just returned from Ricks College for the break and wanted to know of my senior prom plans. Mom shared with him about my date situation and Gary came up with a clever plan. Something to know is that Gary and I have always been the best of friends. He decided to take me to my prom and I accepted. He even rented a tux for the occasion. At dinner, I introduced him as Gary, my college boyfriend, which he was. He is a boy, he is my friend, and he goes to college. No one knew at the dance that my brother stepped in and was my date for my senior prom. We even took senior pictures and everyone thought we were such the cutest couple, as all teenagers think. My brother Gary, knew it was important for me to attend my senior prom and I will always be grateful that he took the time to be a big brother and make this moment a time to remember. This kindhearted act I will always

He asked me if I wanted to come to Six Flags with me one day. Of course, I said yes because Six Flags is a lot of fun. Why would I decline? Little did I know that I wasn’t getting the full experience unless I went on the big rides. The biggest thing I went on previously was Batman and that wasn’t that big.…

Since my high school Creative Writing class will be an elective class that will consist of students in tenth through twelfth grade, I will need to find ways to bring student fun into the learning as much as possible. I have found that students love to eat and socialize, so I will include food, props, and games whenever possible. Difficulty will occur as the norm for class size at my school is thirty-two to thirty-six students, and not all students want to be in the classes where they are assigned. Since a text will not be available for the students, handouts and overhead projections of terminology and examples of writings will be needed. Keeping the class light and the learning fun and engaging at all times will be my goals.…

Alternative: No one talk about what happened at the party. Stakeholder: Ourselves. If we go forward with no one saying anything about what happened at the party, the only values and principles we would be upholding is our loyalty to Simon. I would keep his loyalty by not breaking his trust in myself, even if I can never trust him again.…

Exhilarating: a term making one feel very happy, animated, or elated, would be the perfect word to describe what the day had in store for us eager, and jubilant grade 6 students. A thrilled and luminous smile lit up on my enthusiastic face as I ambled on the same rugged, cracked, gray tinted sidewalk that I had sauntered on everyday for a year. The serene, endless sky was the perfect shade of aqua as the light, silky, radiant clouds formed delicate shapes. The sun was glistening with great luminosity. Suddenly I heard someone screaming my name well not really; it was my nickname, one that really agitated me in an incredibly obnoxious way, “Babikathu wait up”.…

In the Spring of last year, it was my Junior year, one of the most critical years in high school. It’s the year that colleges look at the most, also it was the year that I was in some of the most challenging classes. Mostly honors, a lot of homework, and tests to go along with it. Studying would take me until late at night, and even on weekends, all day long. When it’s the end of the term everyone checks their grades for their report cards, and progress reports.…

I was 13 going into the seventh grade and My summer vacation days were lingering to a close in late July of the sunny and quiet Webster Groves. The days were long and hot, my friends and I would roam our neighborhoods and country club always looking for fun stuff to do, especially looking for trouble. We use to weave in and out through the train tracks and small streets, using them as our alleyways because that linked both of the country clubs in Webster Groves .Then one day, when the glistening sun and beautiful day beamed through my windows and awake me from my deep sleep. My mother creeped in my room, thinking I was still asleep but I could here every crack with her footsteps on my maplewood floor.…

As I went to my first day of school in a new city I was nervous, I didn't know if I was going to make any new friends, if I was going to fit in. The first day began and I immediately met Randy and Byanca, little did I know at the time that they would be my friends for all of my school career. Time went by and so did the grade levels, I would always struggle with one subject and thrive in another. During my elementary and middle school years I would struggle in language arts and history, but I would thrive in mathematics mainly because I love numbers.…

I never could have guessed five years ago, when I walked onto the MWBC grounds that my world would change forever. I didn’t know it then, but that cozy little patch of land in the middle of nowhere would become the biggest influence in my life. I had no inkling that the people I would meet would become like a second family to me. If I had it wouldn’t have taken me so long to get there. Growing up I was very wary of summer camp.…

It was a Thursday night, on my first week of kindergarten. I hadn’t made many friends because I was so use to playing with my sister, that I wasn’t sure if I knew how to make friends. I wasn’t shy when I was around my immediate family, but if you would put me in a room with people that I didn’t know. Well, I wouldn’t say a word. I would be so quiet that I would just sit there and you could forget that I was in the room.…

The end of the day comes whether you have gotten up to do something productive or if you have simply remained inanimate while time moves around you. I have found that the present slips away while you are worrying about the future. We are constantly telling ourselves that if we just get through this, then everything after will be better. We forget to appreciate the moment while constantly reaching for a hypothetically more fulfilling life. Once we graduate high school, or get through a challenging class, or finish a workout, everything after will get easier.…

Short shorts. Short shorts as far as the eye can see. This is what I saw all over ETSU’s beautiful campus as I went one day without my cell phone. Initially, I thought nothing much would come out of the seemingly uninteresting assignment, but I was mistaken. It proved to be an eye-opening day, mostly because I saw how much students were on their phones, I learned that I am terrible at telling time, and I can now cope with my social anxiety instead of jumping to my phone.…

I told my brother to stay on the ground right next to the line, we climbed the metal stairs, passed through the yellow, metal gate into a seat. It was probably the most awkward thing that I have ever experienced, we did not talk or even look at each other. If I remember it correctly, I do not even think we looked at each other. I mean I looked at him plenty, but at this point I started to see things that my newly made teenage hormones blinded me to in the first place. His blonde hair was cut into an extreme bowl cut, so bad that it was not even funny, and he had probably the pimpliest face I have ever seen.…
