Narrative “Girls, when you’re done down there make sure that you clean up your mess.” My dad said reminding us of what we already knew we had to do.

We all three said no and as soon as he shut the basement door we look at each other and jumped off the couch. Later that day I was finished with my homework, Goldie was at work, and Cami was working on her homework. I heard my dad going down to the basement and his words replayed in my head, “When you’re done down there make sure that you clean up your mess…” Oh no I thought to myself, a million thing were running through my head. Then he would only ground one of us.” I said wondering if that was an option. “I guess there’s a fork in the road huh.”
“Girls” We hear coming from the living room. We both look at each other and know what’s going to happen in the next 30 seconds.
We followed our dad down to the basement, it was clear what he was referring to. There were blankets on the floor and spread over the couch, cups and bowls on the small black table in front of the couch, popcorn kernels on the floor and movie cases stacked by the tv. We really did it this time.
I could let all of us go down, or I could take the blame. This weekend I spent a lot of time with my sisters, and it was so much fun. But would we have fun together if we were all grounded?
