I came home from school and began asking my mother many questions about the field of work that my father had done before his passing. . My mother told me my father worked in construction. Then I began to ask what type of things he built. She said “Your father built homes for your family in Jamaica with his own hands and he even rebuilt Mr. Tom’s kitchen.” Once I was informed about the things my father done in his line of work before he passes, it gave me an interest in wanting to go into a career of architecture and design.
While I was in the 6th grade that’s when I began to take architecture seriously. I designed and constructed a prototype skate park. I made the skate park out of card board and iron hanger. When I entered middle school I was enrolled in the honors AVID program where students in grades 7th to 8th became college bound.
