Joseph & Ethan

Meeting my fourth grade buddy, I felt nervous, unsure of who I would get. Would I know the person from before, or would I have never met him before? As we were getting our partner assignments, I felt anxious. When I got partnered with Ethan, I talked with him, and we got to know each other. I felt excited working together, and we eventually became friends. He came up with ideas, we agreed and disagreed about things, and we talked about our outside life. When I first met my buddy, I was kind of worried about who I would get. Is it my friend, or someone that I don’t know? Is he mean like a demon or nice like an angel? I was nervous because sometimes middle schoolers aren’t that nice. When I got partnered with Joseph, he seemed very nice and friendly. He also was smart and helped me write my essays.

We both want the earth to become greener and like the color green. Talking with my partner, we also learned that we both liked video games.

My first impression of the garden was actually in 2nd grade, but I’ll talk about my 4th grade experience. I was pretty happy because the garden was in much better shape. After that, I forgot about the garden for a while, not thinking about it. The next time I came, with Ethan, the change in the garden was jaw-dropping. There was now a bustling garden, filled with a variety of vegetables, herbs, and spices, and it seemed like a whole new

There are many stories told in my family. Anyone and everyone told them, some nights it would be my mom and other nights it would be my grandpa. There would always be two stories read; the first one would be from a book called “My Book of Bible Stories”. This book has so many pictures asks questions has descriptive words and is still one of my favorite books. After that story whoever was telling the story would make up a silly story usually about a blue or green man with a giraffe that went traveling and exploring (I have no clue why).…

The narrator’s description of the garden is a representation of mankind. Chance’s garden and his care for it is, in my interpretation, God or someone who cares for us. Helping us grow, and strive to the best we can be. When we are sick they give us medicine when we are in pain they heal us, and we are down they encourage us, just like chance did this with the plants. From the beginning to end he cared from the garden just like God or our parents or loved ones do.…

Community Gardens positive impacts -- US/Canada I have an interest in helping the poor and needy, and hungry. I think this is a wonderful learning opportunity to get funding for a project/idea that I’ve had in mind for quite some time. I believe we could help local places of worship use their grounds to start these gardens to help feed families & individuals in need of foods. How often have you driven by a Church, Temple, etc., and thought to yourself, "Look at all that land. How great would it be if the Church actually used that area to help teach the community about growing their own foods and sharing what they produce?…

Gardening was a ‘forced’ hobby for a good portion of my childhood. Since elementary school, I worked with my dad in our back yard; I would dig holes, carry bags of manure, and plant flowers and trees. I complained that it would be easier to go to the store and buy a bag of blackberries instead of toiling in the sun for hours to achieve the same thing. I never imagined that I’d end up gardening for fun. Every year, my brother and I would collect the fruits of our labor; every year, I’d appreciate my efforts more and more.…
