Personal Narrative: My 8th Grade Basketball Team

About a year or so ago, I made the 8th grade basketball team. I was happy and ready to work at my skills so I could better myself on the team. Basketball has always been my favorite sport and making the 8th grade team made me love it even more. Making the team made me a better person being around all my friends. Makings the 8th grade basketball team was one of those little things that would impact my life and make me a better person.

Just like the year before it was like I was living it again. We were supposed to have a 3 day tryout, no one thought we have to try out though because there was only 16 of us there to try out. The first round we were set to the the New Berlin Pretzels. We beat New Berlin pretty bad, by about 25. The next round we played Auburn and Auburn is a decent team but we handled them, moving on the the championship. On the other side of the bracket we were set to play either Pleasant Plains or Williamsville. We kept cheering on Williamsville because they were the worse team and the team we wanted to beat for last year.
In the championship we were heading into playing Pleasant Plains, we had beaten Plains bad earlier in the season by about 20. In the championship something had changed and they were better and had more confidence. The game was close all the way to the 4th quarter. Until we knocked down a few 3’s and earned some points in transition. After hitting those 3’s we pulled away and won the game giving us our first county championship.
We had games against Jefferson and Washington left on our schedule before regionals. We would go to lose both of them. Finishing the season, including the county tournament,
