Many people came through searching for help and guidance. It wasn't always easy to meet needs or get through to someone. It made me realize that, as humans, we are such hard-headed, stubborn people that we don't always make it easy for God to get through us. That reminder has allowed me to gain patience and confidence to serve others in order to serve Christ. Focusing on God in that way has allowed me to join my brothers and sisters in Christ in impacting the lives of others. A lot of my dedication was due to the amazing group of mentors I had surrounding me. Some came from my church, others from my community, regardless, they were always there to make sure I kept my eyes focused on Christ, step out of my comfort zone, and keep me accountable. Just as Jesus' disciples gathered together to help him serve, we gather with as much willingness as they did. Even with the trials we go through, every ounce we dedicate to Christ is nothing compared to the blood he shed for us. For us as Christians, to live is Christ and to die is gain (Philippians
