Most of my life I was raised in poverty, so my political views may differ from others. When migrating from Cuba there was only one thing that my parents could do, and it was work. My whole life I had to grow up in Government Projects for the needy. It wasn’t particularly a bad time for me, but for my parents who wanted a better life for me and my sister it was. When it came to food we would survive on food stamps. I knew that wanting toys or games was out of the picture, and it wasn’t a big problem to me because I understood the situation. The way I had to learn was though school, and the daily observation of the country we live in. To my understanding the government always say that hears our plead for a better minimum working wage, but they never take action. People are still living in poverty today, and the promises that we were told about raising minimum wages has yet to come. Know that I’m older I mostly see the government as liars that don’t really care about the American people, but act like they do. If we have a government that we the people can’t trust, I say is a pretty corrupt government in my opinion. The government has been dancing around the topic, but they never act on what they’ve promised for us. As Obama promised in many speeches about raising the minimum wage he still hasn’t. If I was to use the Contract law in a court case, I could use that as my evidence. They promised something for our vote, and we took the deal so they must capitalize on their promises. As the president, you should have the power to pass and veto laws, might as well do as promised. Minimum wage should have been raised a long time ago, but now in 2016 almost 2017 we still have gotten nowhere. The closest we’ve seen a change is California when they raised their minimum wage to 10$, and that’s because it was the state’s decision not the Federal Government. Like I said before many don’t have the funds to attend college, but what about the people who actually like where they work, like McDonalds. Even though Flipping burgers is not looked on as being very skillful job, the point is what if that person loves it. Is he going to receive this low pay forever because he’s doing what he
