Personal Narrative: Twin City Football

Improved Essays
I started playing baseball when I was 7 years old and at that time I was actually playing T-Ball. For awhile I played baseball for a place called Twin City. While I was at Twin City I had mostly played the second base position. Twin City was an alright organization because they didn't have players with the best attitudes. Those players with not so good attitudes affected our teams ability to win. Their attitudes caused us to lose a lot of our games and we didn't play as a team as much. This was an off and on situation and I had played for Twin City for years. Then finally my parents have had enough of Twin City because they didn't like the way Twin City was doing things and they finally transferred me over to Walkertown Little League and …show more content…
I'll always remember that one very special baseball game that I had played in a while ago. I think I was either 11 or 12 years old when I played in that very special baseball game. On that day I was on my way to Walkertown because that's where my baseball game took place. There were different teams in my division but I played for the Walkertown Cardinals. I played multiple positions like 2nd base, 3rd base, shortstop, and pitcher but my main position was …show more content…
During that very special baseball game I was beasting at shortstop. Every time a ball was hit my way I would either catch it or scoop it up off the ground depending on what type of hit it was but if the ball came my way my fans already knew what was going to happen. My fans already knew that I was going to get the batter out or get a double play and most of the time I did. It felt so great knowing that I helped my team achieve excellence and earn victories. My team had a very strong and unstoppable defense and if it wasn't for our teamwork, we wouldn't have had such a successful season. I really enjoyed playing baseball that season. That baseball season was way different from my previous baseball seasons. The difference was that this season was a winning season and in my previous seasons all my team did was lose and have poor sportsmanship. This made me enjoy baseball even more because I finally got to play on a consistent winning team. I was thinking about quitting baseball because of my previous unsuccessful seasons but I decided to not give up on baseball and I gave it another shot. The time I spent in little league baseball made it seem like to me that I was playing in the

I have played baseball ever since I was a young kid, but somehow, at seventeen I still had numerous struggles with it. You would think after my grandpa being drafted to the Pittsburgh Pirates, a Major League baseball team, and my dad getting a full ride to the University of Denver their skill would have rubbed off on me, but you would be wrong. I wasn't terrible, I could hit a 90 mile per hour fastball and I could, for the most part, field a ground ball. However, I was definitely not about to be scouted by the college scouts.…

As soon as my dad could put a glove on my hand the learning process began and after my first practice I fell in love with the game. From that point on all I did was softball, it was my safe place, my other home and the one thing I knew I could do something great in. I would always want to just throw with my dad or my brother, as little as I was I wanted to show them that I could catch the hard balls they threw. Of course though, I couldn’t but I was in the process of getting there.…

We got to take a coach bus up to target field and walk on the field with all the other age groups that also won. On the way up no one could sit still we were all exhilarated to be on a Major League Baseball field. But before we get to that, we should start at the beginning of the season and the state tournament. It was my first year of Royals baseball…

The highlight for the Cubs that day was Aramis Ramirez the third baseman for the Cubs who hit a homerun* that game. Other than that the Cubs lost that game and I didn’t care because all I could think of was going to run the bases. So after the game I went now to field level I looked around imagining someday if I could play on this field. I remember feeling the padded wall down the right field wall and looking at the visiting bullpen mounds.…

I couldn't wait to get back on that field in front of those scouts and show them that I had become a far better player than I was the year before. I had put so much effort into getting better in all aspects of my game and I knew I was poised to have a great tryout. After hours days that felt like years of grueling work in the weight room and in the batting cages, the day had come to tryout to punch my ticket to Long Beach. At that point, I went out on that field and did what I loved to do.…

While growing up, sports have always been a big part of my life. At the age of only six years old, my parents first signed me up for coach pitch softball. Little did they know that I was going to fall in love with the game and that they were going to have to spend countless hours at softball fields during the spring each year watching me play. I remember the first time I failed at something it changed my state of mind from high to low, filled me with anxiety and turned my world into chaos. What had such a powerful impact on my life is loved all over the United States, it is known as “America’s pass time,” the great sport of baseball. I originally decided to join baseball to make my family proud, no one else in my family played sports anymore due to harsh injuries. I would always hear my father say the day he had a son who played baseball would be the happiest day of his life.…

I had no idea what to think about this foreign, petrifying, game could possibly be about.
