I couldn't help but smile as I waited in line at the Moscow airport to board our flight back to Texas. My mom was standing next to explaining in russian all of the things that happened with my half brothers and sisters while I was gone for nine months. She talked about how she finished Medical School and how clean the house is gonna be. But honestly I was just excited for being back home. I couldn’t answer any of the questions the U.S. customs officer asked me as I stared up at his desk surrounded by a glass fortress.
