Aziz Ansari had spoken something along the lines of how easy it is for our generation these days. We are the least lonely people, and if we literally want something right now, then boom Amazon prime it and Fedex is already on their way. My mind exploded because before, I was always somewhat aware but not as completely aware as I had just become. He was totally right; we live in the era of technology. It’s everywhere, some of you are probably holding your phone in your hands right now! The effect of technology in our lives is beyond words. For this reason, it can be found humorous how some people prefer “paperback books” over state-of-the-art, cutting edge electronic books. These amazing instruments of technology are monumentally better for a plethora of reasons. (Man, I’m sorry your parents are that strict. I’m sure you’ll catch up soon don’t worry) Bottom line is our minds are all technologically intelligent. Technology is our life. Don’t we all wake up because our alarms are set to High School Musical’s Breaking Free at 7:00 am, and don’t we all fall asleep stalking Ryan Gosling’s Twitter? Of course we all do, it’s not just me, I’m sure of it. We all do. We breathe machines, we are machines. While we are all on Kik, Instagram, Snapchat, Youtube, Photo, and so much more, our parents barely discovered Facebook and are still incapable of understanding that when you try to zoom in on an Instagram picture you end up accidentally liking a photo your crush posted sixty four weeks ago. It makes sense that our parents and the previous generations prefer paper books because technological advancements like a kindle didn’t exist in the 80’s. The world is constantly changing, and we the people are responsible to change alongside it. It is time to make the transition from traditional books to ebooks. A new age is awakening; therefore, it is imperative to abandon our simplistic ways.
