Many small business owners, while facing increased taxes, will have to spend extra money on insurance for employees once they hit certain numbers. If an employer is that threshold and need more employees to grow their business, they may not be able to afford to pay that employee both a wage and the required health care. This will cause employers to stop hiring as much. Still, if a business owners need the employee they may just begin hiring people part time since then they would no longer be required to get that person health insurance. That person then gets neither health insurance or a full time job.
