Intro
Most people would think that the Robertsons just one day up and became famous with lots of money. That is as far from the truth as it gets. They too just like everybody else endured hardships and pain, but they came through with God and family. Here are the stories of Phil and Kay Robertson, Reed Robertson, and Jep Robertson.
Phil and Kay
Phil Robertson and Marsha “Kay” Carroway met when Kay was only fourteen years of age. After two years of dating they decided to marry when Kay was sixteen. When Phil started college they were very poor with a baby on the way. Being the youngest of four brothers he got picked on a lot by his brothers. If he would win a game or something they would give him a swirly or a wedgie. When he was young and the family's duck call business was starting up his dad was a commercial fisherman. He would ride with his mom to the fish market to sell fish. When he was about 18 he met a couple guys in high school and decided to hang with them and things got ugly. He was using lots of drugs and drinking heavily. He would take pills and have no clue what it was that he was taking. He knew he was off track in life but did not want to stop. It was very hard to hide his actions from his parents, he had no decency whatsoever. One time he got drunk and went to the movies. He came out of the movie and there was a note from Willie on his truck saying he knows what hes been up to and to go to their dad’s house. He shows up there and all his brothers trucks are there and everybody is in there sitting down. His dad tells him that they have decided that he can either change and join them with God or he can go out on his own and be alone. He tells them that he does not deserve to come back. He has only seen his dad cry three times in his life and that was one of them. His dad tells him that he is going on house arrest. With a smile on his face he says “You can’t leave and you have to duck hunt
