I am presently working as “Physiotherapist” at the Amcare Rehabilitation centre. It is a centre where people with Orthopaedic and Neurological deficits come for out-patient rehabilitation. I am solely involved in assessing, treating and maintaining physiotherapy records of the clients. I make independent decisions pertaining to duration and type of physiotherapy treatment to be provided. I work along with an Orthopedic surgeon and regularly discuss about the cases when required. I have also had junior physiotherapists in the past who work under my guidance at the centre.
Predominantly I deal with clients who have orthopaedic and musculoskeletal deficits. I work for 8 hours in a day and see on an average 6 to 8 clients in a day. I have been working here since the past 20 months. I not only work to provide them symptomatic treatment, but also aim at return to work. Moreover, I also keep long term follow-ups with the clients to ensure they have a good quality of life with no to minimal disabilities. I am also involved in rehabilitation of clients with neurological disorders like stroke. I believe that it is critical to undertake a thorough assessment of the client to identify the right cause of a deficit and deal with it. …show more content…
These hospitals are acute care setups that do not have full time physiotherapists. I am referred for physiotherapy services whenever a patient needs it. On an average, I see at least one case in a day at these hospitals. I strongly feel that my past experience of being an undergraduate and post graduate in a 2200 bedded multispecialty hospital (Kasturba hospital, Manipal) has made me qualified enough to provide quality physiotherapy services to any client at any
