In the movie Pleasantville Bud and his sister Mary Sue are transferred into Buds favorite television show, Pleasantville. In Pleasantville everything is black and white and every family wants to be viewed as the perfect family. They follow a very stereotypical schedule of having a family with two kids, a dad that goes to work everyday and mom who stays home and prepares meals for the family. Everyone in the community follows this same schedule everyday in order to have the so called “perfect” life. But, once Bud and Mary Sure get transported into this town everything slowly starts to change. Bud and Mary Sue don’t follow the day to day schedule like everyone else in the town, and started to rebel against the guidelines of this town. Therefore the town started to develop new systems. As Bud and Mary Sue show different emotions and break the rules of Pleasantville, color starts to appear in the town.
