You made a lot of great points. Even though I did not select the same stanza from Chapter 7, I agree with your interpretation and how you pointed out that you “ … have gone through several situations in life that have made me feel every type of feelings and emotions that you can think of if life”. I do think that various experiences in our lifetimes have helped us grow in even unexpected ways. None of us are the same individuals as we were a couple of years ago.

Even though we may live in the 21st century and our lives are far more autonomous than ever before, I still believe we can choose our fate. I do not believe that we are bound by our destiny, nor do I believe that we lack a choice to alter our future. In particular, I believe that we can learn from the mistakes of the past, and control our own future with sound decision making in the present. For me, believing in a predestined can lead one to complacency or stagnation.
I do not believe that we should credit or shift our blame to the notion of a destiny as we should take full responsibility of our actions. For instance, if that individual is trapped in such a mindset, it may be difficult for them to improve. If they do not believe they can do it, they will never take the initiative for change. However, even if they do they take the chance, it still may be difficult to break a routine, especially if it has been an ongoing one . It will require a focused individual to maintain such a discipline and a strong will as they might possibly revert back to old habits.
