This should sound familiar because earlier this year The New York Times reported that, “The Obama administration is turning to the United Nations to help screen migrants fleeing violence in Central America, senior administration officials said Tuesday, and to help set up processing centers in several Latin American countries in the hopes of stemming a flood of families crossing the southern border illegally.” The United States, like the Eastern Church did in the Middle Ages, is asking for help from a group the country is closely connected to, the United Nations. The United Nations’ goal is to “transform our world.” Although, the church of the Middle Ages focused on the religious aspect of the world, the church also recognized that the world needed to be improved.
