Many Americans risk their lives to defend the freedoms that people have on our homeland. They perform various difficult duties each day with little pay and extremely long hours. Taken away from their families and the things they find comfort in, the people who join our armed forces do it with great pride. The political cartoon shows the sacrifices made by the men and women in the armed forces is far greater than those of professional athletes, which means that their pay should be significantly higher. Professional athletes compete against other athletes to entertain a crowd of people while men and women are overseas fighting to protect the freedom Americans have.
