In 2015 about 20,000 People are doing time in jail time for crimes they did not commit (Huffington post). That is not okay for any judge to falsely punish anyone for any crime. Imagine you go to the store at night randomly and someone decided to rob the store while you were in there. You ended up at the wrong place at the wrong time. Somehow they ended up charging you with the crime of armored robbery and murder but you didn’t do either of them. Now you are facing life in jail for something you didn’t do. You’ve lived at least eighteen years of your life so you’re upset you have to spend the rest of your life in jail. You had so much more life to live buy you can’t because a mistake made by a judge. Now just imagine you being a child not even old enough to drink alcohol. Not even old enough to get into an R rated movie but your life is taken away from you. That so sad to think a young child who has their whole future in front of them has to be behind bars for the things they didn’t do. It’s bad enough for an adult to be falsely charged but if you think that a kid was falsely charged that’s even worse. I don’t even know how it’s possible for you to falsely charge someone. I know if the person didn’t do it they there isn’t enough evidence on then to put them in jail forever. I really think that this problem should be fixed so we can get around this problem. On top of being treated like an adult in the court eyes. There’s a chance they can make a mistake an throw and innocent child being bars. No child should every have to live knowing they have a chance to go to jail for life just being at the wrong place at the wrong
