Deaths have risen in recent years because of drivers who carelessly don't look at their speed limits or the speed they are driving at. It is not only important for one's life but for other people's lives, their families, their vehicles. People don't seem to understand they are putting so much more at risk than just themselves. Nearly 1.3 million people die in road crashes each year, on average 3,287 deaths a day. An additional 20-50 million are injured or disabled.

The tickets will accumalate and somebody can have their license suspended after so many of them and it takes money in order to remove the tickets and get your license back. If any law enforcement agent stops you and gives you a citation you would have to pay for the amount given to you and you would have to appear in front of a judge or even go to court for the same reason. This is not only money wasted but time wasted if that person could of just been driving at the speed limit. You can prevent so many things by driving below the speed limit.

Then the people feel guilty after they find out what they have done. Some people don’t care, and do the same thing multiple times, and need to be punished. Eventually they will learn there are consequences.…

When Californians take their driver's test, are they not taught to use their signal light 100 feet before the turn and to not use high beams when within city limits? And here I was thinking only Southerners were bad when it came to obeying the laws of the road, but now I can infer that Californians are granted their driver’s license straight out of the cereal box. I mean, along Hobsonway, on the freeway and even on 95, people interject their cars right in front of you, without so much as a blink of a signal light.…

There are many issues and arguments involving speed limits some people follow it strictly and other prefer to go 10 to 15 miles over or under it to many law abiding citizen`s dismay. First of all, there's the fact that people are indeed breaking a law even if a person were to go over the limit by 1 mile per hour that is consider breaking the law in the eyes of the justice system. Second of all, the limit was placed there for a reason most likely for safety precautions in order to protect every person on the road from the licensed drivers in their car to the pedestrians on the sidewalk. As was said before the price of a ticket gets higher when you speed in school zones or in construction zones, this is because the driver that is speeding put lives in more danger than usual. Think that if that driver that was speeding was not paying attention and a child or one of the construction worker were to cross the road the driver would likely have more of a chance of hitting the pedestrian. When a driver is speeding the time it takes to brake/stop is delayed, so in the example where the driver was speeding and didn't see the people crossing the road he would have likely hit them but if the driver were to be going the speeding and respecting the law the driver likely would have had more time to stop and notice the pedestrians and lives would be saved. Speed limits are not just there to protect pedestrians but also to protect the driver, it is proven to be easier to lose control of a vehicle at a higher speed. So if the driver were to be speeding and hit a pot whole or swerve off the road he/she would likely get into an accident.…

Usually I obey the traffic laws while driving, However, I tend sometimes to break small rules when I find myself in a situation that I think allow me to do so. For example when someone is driving so slow on the far left side of the road and keeps you waiting forever or force you to overtake him from the right side. I find myself reasonable when doing so and I don't feel bad about it because it is not my intention to break the law of overtaking only from the left side.…
