Proteus syndrome causes scoliosis, Disproportionate overgrowth, and facial atrophy. The People who have the condition have a hard time walking sometimes because they may have scoliosis or have tiny legs. Also some people who have it can’t even see. Since some can’t really walk they may have to have a wheel chair and the people that Can’t see will have a seeing eye dog. There are even short people that have this condition thanks to Disproportionate overgrowth. The available treatments of the condition is early identification and different medical approaches. The bad thing about early identification is that the offspring has to have serious medical problems. The medical approaches consist of prophylactic, Symptomatic, and hemihyperplasia. Hemihyperplasia treatment is very limited though. Even if you do all of these things you won’t completely fix the condition.
