Qualitative Observation

My approach for this research was to observe and get information that fit my topic. I wanted to make sure I got information from the teacher, I wanted to get information from just observation that I conducted myself. I think it was a personal research, but also a case study. I wanted to know answers to my questions and help me understand my research topic better. But also it is a case study, because it is a form of qualitative descriptive research that is used to look at individuals, a small group of participants, or a group as a whole. This is where I collect data about participants using participant and direct observations, interviews, protocols, tests, examinations of records, and collections of writing samples (Alp, 2013). I also had discussion with the teacher about the students I was working with, I asked questions about them and took notes so I can remember the details later. I also had discussions and asked the students questions, this is a bit of an assessment approach where I could see if they are learning. The teacher and I would discuss how the classroom time went, what the next step would be and needs to be done next time I am working with the children. As this conversation would be happening, I wrote down bullet points of what she is wanting me to work on and what thoughts I have while we are …show more content…
I am optimism that I made some sort of positive effect on the student, because I know they did on me. The one-on-one or small group work help the ELL students be more confident in their sentence writing and sentence construction. My time working with the ELL students in the classroom was a success, because they got the time they needed with someone who could only pay attention to them. They got the extra help they needed, and these students got an educated supervision that gave them the ability to work on their own, but have a support system right next to them as

In the article “How do you learn to walk? Thousands of steps and dozens of falls per day”, experimental research was done to find an answer to how infants learn to walk. Previous research was conducted on this topic, but it did not show anything about how much or how far infants walk, how often they fall, what makes them continue walking after falling, and how these abilities change with development. Researchers have simply focused on the structure of postures from a crawling to an upright walking position and the regular steps of infants on open grounds where they have to use natural locomotion, or the natural ability to move. There are many benefits of implementing the SEL program into the classroom. I will use this program and model many of the Mrs. Branson’s techniques in my future classroom. SEL enriches student-teacher relationships and this relationship is at the heart of learning. Research shows that that students who experience a caring relationship with a teacher are more motivated to learn, and, hence, they enjoy school more and demonstrate greater academic success (Zakrzewski). When teachers practice SEL, they become more consciously aware of the process of behavior change in the teacher as well as the student…
