Civil Rights: Racial Discrimination
Racism, when one ethnic group discriminates another by not giving them their rights and by thinking one ethnic group is more superior than the other. Racial Discrimination has been going on for many years and is expressed through many ways. The arts have been significant in the voice of the oppressed and have been at the forefront of many movements. Throughout history African Americans have overcome and dealt with much tragedy, after all of their fight to be equal, they are still being discriminated against by much of America.

This article is saying that for so long white people discriminated against others and it has become such a routine that if they were to support integration that they would be scared of all the changes and reorganization. This movie goes through the daily life of a 1960’s high school student, Tracy, who got the opportunity to appear on a popular TV show. On her journey of being on the show, which was an all-white cast that has a special “Negro Day” for colored people, she began to push for integration because she felt that they were all equal. In this fight for equality, she is very much alone and shunned by her best friend’s family and much of the town.
