Cambria Lovelady states about Rasputin, “He quickly found himself invited into the parlors of high society and religious elders, who took him for an ascetic monk”(Lovelady). Rasputin went around Russia preaching scripture to the working class. He brought hope to the lower class and taught of an afterlife. Rasputin made the poor and hard working people feel like their life had meaning and that they would eventually be able to move on to some place better where they did not have to work. The people of Russia began to greatly respect Rasputin and viewed him as a descendant from the place he taught about. Moses was similar to Rasputin in the sense that he taught the hard working animals that their efforts will pay off and that they will eventually be able to go to Sugarcandy Mountain. As stated by Moses the raven, “Sugarcandy Mountain, that happy country where we poor animals shall rest forever from our labours!”(Orwell 80).
