What an amazing writer of science fiction and fantasy. Ray Bradbury was born in a small mid-western city in Illinois in 1920, where his family struggled due to the great depression. The Bradbury family eventually settled down in Los Angeles when Ray was fourteen. Ray Bradbury attended Los Angeles High School where he regularly worked on his writing and also joined the drama club. Ray also considered being a professional actor or even a magician. Ray a vivid imagination and was often haunted by his fears. Ray claimed he had almost recall, back to the moment of his death. In the late 1930’s Ray started to attend meetings with the Science Fiction League, Los Angeles Chapter. By 1941 Ray would write one story a week and then Ray would share his work with the writers in the Science Fiction League, who would then review them. While working as a newspaper seller in from 1941 t0 1951 Ray published the “Weird Tales”, which was his first science fiction story. In 1947 Ray married the love of his life Marguerite “Maggie” McClure and Ray published his first short-story collection titled “Dark Carnival”.
