Since researching this topic, my nursing practice has changed in the way that I interview, assess, and treat my clients. Throughout my education in nursing school I was always taught a more holistic approach, however I was never truly conducting my assessments and interviews with clients within this matter. I am always respectable and caring towards clients, but in my past practices within clinical, my focus was primarily on the disease process and preventing the disease from worsening. Today completes week six at my clinical affiliation. With only two weeks remaining I am already preparing a study plan for the PTA exam that I am hoping to take in July. I started this class having only taken two other classes in the counseling program. Although I enjoyed those classes, they did not discuss what you actually do in a therapy session with a client. I felt I was still missing the knowledge of how a therapy session actually worked.
