I want to be able to understand my current diet before any moderations. For breakfast on Tuesday, January 30th, I had whole grain cereal with almond milk as well as a cup of coffee with cream and sugar. I had a spinach salad for lunch with vegetables, cheese, and balsamic dressing. For dinner, I made flatbread pizza with mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, and mushrooms. I mostly drank water and a glass of iced green tea for lunch. After analyzing my diet on this day and knowing how I have eaten in the past, I concluded that my diet does not have variety or moderation. The textbook mentioned the “hunger and satiety mechanisms” (Turley and Thompson 9) that our body uses to signal when you are hungry and full which is something I tend to ignore most of the time. I think if I pay more attention to what my body is telling me, I will be able to cut back significantly on my portions. Since I do not eat any meat besides salmon, I plan on taking an iron supplement and try to eat more beans and lentils. I plan on being more aware of the foods I eat and keeping track of how much water I drink. By decreasing the carbohydrates and sugars I consume and exercising more frequently, I hope to feel healthier and better about
