My Goal Of Organizational Change

For my change project, I have decided to focus on individual change as opposed to organizational change because at this time I am not involved in an organization. After deep consideration and self-reflection, I have decided to write about time/self-management and how it will help me achieve my goal of attaining a business degree by the end of 2018. At the beginning of last year, I decided to dedicate myself to school and learning with the hope of being successful in the business world. To do this, I had to maintain strong grades to get into the business school. I successfully did that and now I am faced with new academic challenges. To conquer these challenges, I realized that I needed to make major improvements on self-management. If I am …show more content…
I experienced cognitive dissonance as I drifted away from my core values by procrastinating and being lazy which in the end almost got the better of me as I started falling behind in school. Being able to look back and recognize my downfall has helped me to change and become the person I want to be. If there is one thing I know about my self, it is that I have a proactive personality. My smart goal is attaining my business degree from the University of Utah by the end of 2018. This goal is specific, measurable through grades, attainable through hard work, result oriented, and time bound by roughly two years. After careful self-monitoring of my struggles from two years ago, I now focus on key aspects that I noticed that led to my procrastination and laziness. I came to the conclusion that my ultimate downfall came from not structuring each day and creating calendars and checklists to keep on track. So in order to achieve change, I started creating assignment calendars for school as well as life outside school. I made weekly and daily checklists to measure this change and stay on track. I also structured my day-to-day activities consisting of waking up at a designated time, going to school and creating specific times for completing homework, as well as specific times for work, eating, training, and play. At first this required a lot of work and was a big change for me to make. In the end, the time spent structure my life paid off and over the past year I’ve been able to keep up with school and the responsibilities I have outside of school. Seeing my success and knowing that I am sticking to my core values has made me prideful and keeps me on track today and every day that

I didn’t even bother to learn from my mistakes I just continued to do it and my grades could have been better if I stayed motivated.…
