AMRITANKO BANERJEE(PGPM1114) DIV A ROLL 16 PERSONAL LEARNING PAPER

The PG lab was three day event at the Lonavala. Right from the start of the program, most of us were very excited about the program. We had high hopes about it and it did not disappoint us. At the end of the three day event all the members of the batch were bonded more. The trust we had among us multiplied many times and we could a get a hands-on experience of how to network. On a personal front, I could say that the lab helped me to challenge my own beliefs about myself and helped to increase my self-confidence several notches.
It all began around 1 o’clock in the afternoon on 16th February. From this year the

When the results of the personality traits analysis were coming out the people with the same traits were made to sit together and people were engaged in pulling the legs of different groups.
We were supposed to have an outbound activity in the afternoon session but due to unprecedented situation in the city the activity was shifted to the next day and indoor class room sessions commenced throughout the day. The professors, the program associates and the organizers showed remarkable team work in quickly changing the plan. The learning from this exercise was that be dynamic and always be ready be multiple plans. If one does not work out, quickly employ the other alternatives.
The following events of the day were a quick visit from the Lonavala town, followed by a sumptuous dinner and a DJ nite. We enjoyed to the fullest and bonding between each one of us seemed to have strengthened. Planning so many activities within a short period of time was an exercise in time management. I realized that we learn more when we share

We were divided in a team of eight and were asked to locate treasures as per the guidelines. This was a very good exercise where we could divide tasks among people, assigning the right task to the right people and proceed towards a common goal. At the end of the exercise we needed to collaborate even with members of the other group. This was a classic case of cohesiveness leading to maximizing productivity. During the course of the event we had various sub tasks. We realized that for each a different strategy was needed. Initially we had a few hiccups and also took a lot of time in completing a couple of sub tasks at the beginning. At the that time we also had a high acceptance in the group. Then we changed our approach and assigned a couple of group members the role of a devil’s advocate. They pointed out several flaws in our approaches which helped us to rectify our mistakes and be more powerful as a

On May 2nd, my group performed a story of Julio, from the book Underground America: Narratives of Undocumented Lives edited by Peter Orner. We then received feedback from our professor and other students about what we need to improve on. Since then, we have brainstormed ways to make our performance more effective. On May 18th, my class will combine our performances to create one long performance with our improved performance opening the piece. While some may have theories, others may disagree. Although no one knows what really happened, there are theories of the official story. My first semester at Georgia Southern has been an eventful time. I have had the honor of learning leadership roles and applying them to the community. Three qualities a leader should obtain are opening ears, dedication, and diligent work labor. With these three qualities, I have learned you can succeed in anything you put your mind too whether it's positive communication with your group, developing Scare on the Square, or giving back to Nature Activities. It is always best to balance the care for the product and people.…

The first would focus on Update #1 and another group would work on Update 2 and the remainder of the team would work on the Final. It is important to note that although we separated into 3 smaller groups, we were still one group and would help when needed and provide feedback to each component of the Problem. Our group focused on creating a positive, ego free, respectful environment which made for a positive and collaborative environment. When looking back at Problem 1 Team, I quickly realized that while were able to complete the tasks successfully, I didn’t feel we were a successful team. To be more specific, the fact that our initial team had such strong personalities, it forced some of the team members, myself included, onto the back bench.…

I hate working with people who don’t contribute to assignments. In elementary school my teacher would force us into groups and it was fine because everyone did their part. I loved how quick and easy it was to finish an assignment that otherwise would have taken me days. In middle school I started to notice that people were slacking off. My groups usually didn’t contribute much so I would do the assignment on my own because there was no way I was going to let my GPA fall down.…

In the beginning there was some cohesion because Kim and Penny were still confused on what we were supposed to be doing. I caught myself talking over Jasmine and she brought in a timer so, all of us would have time to have a turn to talk about our parts. Angel brought it to our attention when we needed to turn in our assignments. As individuals we all had different behaviors during this time some of us were aggravated, some was quiet and listening, and a few was trying to figure it all out. This is an example of how the learning theory works as individuals and how we worked through them to make this proposal come together.…

You could say we went through the “forming” and “storming” stages of group work that semester. Second semester, after we had an opportunity to analyze each other’s strengths, we were able to work much more efficiently. We evolved into a united group with common goals, and this evolution is reflected in the deliverables we created in 732 to 752. We learned a lot about the questions to ask when designating roles on a project and paying attention to identify these strengths. We also learned about our own strengths in the process.…

I felt that my group was a perfect match of people. Each individual brought forth a certain skill that helped create a stronger group. We have managements skills, mathematic and language skills, professionalism, communication skills, and several more all complementing each other to form a well-rounded collection. I learned that everyone had the same vision (pg. 495), which was set on achieving a high grade. Even when a group member was added, social loafing (pg. 271) did not occur proving our dedication.…

We all tried, but I think some of us took the project more seriously than others. Kevin was always late to our meetings event though when we created the team contract we agreed to be punctual unless there was an emergency. I doubt that there was an emergency every single week when we met. I think Amy and myself did most of the work, we had to assign work for Kevin and Shaohui to do otherwise they would not take the initiative to do something unless we asked them to do it which was frustrating because Kevin was supposed to be the project manager and it was his responsibility to make sure that we were doing our part and being the leader of the team. I am not saying that it was all his responsibility because we are all adults and can do our part, but what I am saying is that they were not behaving as adults.…

Starting with another whole group meeting in one location for multiple days, to begin to mend communication ties and interpersonal relationships. From there, fostering them and tending to the amended relationships needs to take place, both in the whole group and in the subteam space. The aforementioned meetings should take place, but additional community building activities should be incorporated. If upper-level management or any of the subordinates are not in sync with the ultimate vision of the project, they need to be released and new members that are willing to be team players, learn quickly, and adhere to the ultimate vision need to replace them. Regardless of the time and efforts that must be considered, the project can be successful, provided that time and efforts are the resources that upper management is willing…

I really enjoyed the time I spent in Mrs. Flinn’s fourth grade classroom over Spring Break. I was able to observe for a total of four hours between Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning. During my time with the fourth graders, I took a closer look at the solid behavior classroom supports being used. Along with these supports, I was extremely impressed by the way Mrs. Flinn handled classroom management. Even though I observed during a very exciting week, she had great control over her students.…
