As seen above, when all could worship freely, a sense of unity spread through that colony; which allowed for new political ideas to flourish, on the other hand; religious intolerance inspired conflict among the colonist. Like the early colonists, people today still find themselves at odds and unified because of religion. For example, due to the fear and ignorance of some, islamophobia and anti-semitism is more relevant today than ever resulting in Muslim and Jewish people experiencing hate crimes and misinterpretations of their religion. On the other hand, due to the liberalness and diversity of America, people of different faiths interact on the daily whether it be at school or work.
