First of all,Tybalt caused his own death because he was looking to start a fight with Romeo. Looking for Romeo, Tybalt confronts Benvolio and Mercutio and asks them if they have seen Romeo. The two reply that they have not seen Romeo for a while. Shortly after Romeo comes strolling up to the group where Tybalt converses with him. In the midst of the conversation Tybalt exclaims “Boy, this shall not excuse the injuries that thou hast done me; therefore turn and draw.” All of this occurs in Act 3 Scene 1. After Tybalt insults Romeo, Mercutio, upset and confused that Romeo did nothing to defend himself, drew his sword against Tybalt. In Act 3, Scene 1 Romeo says “Draw, Benvolio; beat down their weapons. Gentlemen, for shame, forbear this outrage! Tybalt, Mercutio, the Prince expressly hath forbid this bandying in Verona streets. Hold, Tybalt! Good Mercutio!”. After this was said, Romeo jumped in between the two, and under his arm Tybalt stabbed Mercutio and fled. Romeo in a blind rage goes after Tybalt and starts a battle with him. In the end, Romeo came out on top while Tybalt was dead on the ground. What Tybalt had done created a cause and effect relationship, because Tybalt killed Mercutio the effect was Romeo got upset and killed Tybalt. In All of this Tybalt was unknowingly setting himself up for his own
