My topic area is African American Women in Higher Education. I am a single African American Women who has climbed the educational ladder to the highest level of education. It has always been my dream to reach this plateau in my life. I was determined not to let my ethnicity, economic status, or community determine my level of success. I have often dreamed of having a successful career as a President of a University or Community College, or a School Principal of either intermediate or high school students. But, in order to achieve this goal I must be educated. To me education is extremely important because it is the foundation of life. Education provides me with knowledge and power within the world around me. It benefits me socially as well
