Even though there are many attacks a year, people are still very scarred to get in the water especially after major attacks, such as the Jersey Shore attacks of 1916, and many films such as Jaws.

A: According to ISAF (International Shark Attack File), between 1580 and 2014 there were 2,778 unprovoked shark attacks around the world in which 497 were fatal. Even though Australia is ranked with the second highest in terms of global shark accidents with 664 unprovoked fatalities, it is ranked the top with shark
