In creating their solution the framers of the “Declaration of Independence” wanted to create a brand new nation. (Source A). They decide that separation is for the best of all parties, and so they do not attempt to repair relations with England. They are revolutionaries for creating a new nation, and a new form of government, as seen in the last paragraph of the declaration. (Source A) Having established that, the “Declaration of Sentiments” does not champion the same solution. Instead, they work to reform the system by protesting and changing society. As it is said in the last paragraph of the declaration, they will continue to fight no matter the pain, ridicule, or sacrifice. They will convince their countrymen they are right, and that all should support their cause.(Source B) In this light they are not revolutionaries, they are activists advocating their cause, even if it is a new idea. They want to give rights, established rights, to an oppressed group rather than create new rights. (Source D) They are focusing on a narrow relationship, the relationship between men and women, while the framers were focused on the relationship of a society to other societies.
While the “Declaration of Independence” and the “Declaration of Sentiments” are written with similar structures, they generate completely different impacts.
