Robert Oppenheimer was the greatest leader to atomic weaponry because of his leadership shown in putting together the atomic bomb. Before he was born his parents devoted their lives to making Robert’s life the best it could. In his early life he wasn’t normal. His parents wouldn’t even let him go play in the streets or parks! His parents taught him to not be noisy and just be polite. But a sad thing was that because he was so smart by the time he was five he didn’t even know how to play with children his age. He had very good manners and never caused trouble but sadly he had no friends. When he was 5 his family went to England to see his grandfather and other relatives. General Leslie Groves asked a lot of scientist how to make a bomb like that and almost every one of the explanations that he didn’t understand. Then Robert came along and explained it to him.For this he put Robert in charge of the who would help with the Manhattan Project. Also, he was in charge of where it would happen, so he proposed that a new town would be created not made, this town was later named Los Alamos. “"He's a genius. A real genius... Why, Oppenheimer knows about everything. He can talk to you about anything you bring up. Well, not exactly. I guess there are a few things he doesn't know about. He doesn't know anything about sports.” Said the General Leslie Groves.”(PBS) To get people to help with the Manhattan Project he just asked and if they said yes only then he would tell them to go to get started. For most people already knew what to do already. (J. Robert Oppenheimer Theoretical Physicist, Atomic Pioneer). Even some of his colleagues joined the Manhattan Project because Robert was the directer.(100 Leaders) Once he started working President Franklin Roosevelt gave him a thank you note and said to work hard at his goal.(President Franklin

On August 6, 1945, the US dropped an atomic bomb on the Japanese city of Hiroshima and another on Nagasaki three days later. It is estimated that both atomic bombs killed somewhere between 150,000-250,000 people within 1 month of each detonation. However, before both bombings the US urged the Japanese to surrender in order to avoid such destruction, but it took two bombings before the Japanese surrendered. The purpose of the atomic bomb was to force Japan’s surrender in order to save lives, avoid requesting the aid of the Soviet Union to win the war, and to shorten what could be an unnecessarily longer war.…

The Manhattan project was led by the United States and the United Kingdom. It produced one of the first nuclear weapons during world war two. Most of the scientist that came to organize this project for military purposes came usually from Europe. On December 6, 1941 the project was put under the direction of the office of scientific research and development, headed by Vannevar Bush. After the United States entry into world war two, the war department was given responsibility for the project, because by mid-1942 it was obvious that pilot plants, laboratories, and manufacturing facilities would have to be constructed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers so that the assembled scientists could carry out their mission.…

When Victor Frankenstein created his monster, it was a great example of how someone can do something with the best intentions in mind, but get an outcome far different than what they had expected. If one thing is the same all about technology, whether it be for good or evil, it is that most of the time, their creators started out with the best intentions. Probably the best example of this is the Manhattan Project: the creation of the atomic bomb. In 1939, Albert Einstein wrote to President Franklin Roosevelt and urged him to approve a program that would create the first nuclear weapon.…

In a random stroke of luck, he realized that something had killed the mold growing in the jars. Later, he conducted some more research, and created the “miracle medicine”, penicillin. Doctors today still use penicillin to treat and cure diseases such as strep throat, scarlet fever, strep throat, blood poisoning, and many other diseases. J. All of the physicists on the Manhattan Project all helped provide vital information for the creation of the atomic bomb (Arnesen E. 2013). They even helped in the development of the very first nuclear explosion at Alamogordo on July 16,1945. His creation of the atomic bomb was not meant to be used for the death of many people, all Robert Oppenheimer wanted to do was to create the atomic weapon faster than Germany. He had no intent of using the bomb on any other country. Oppenheimer was happy with his work of the atomic bomb until seeing the devastation it brought among so many people.…
