The age of the rock in years can be found by measuring the rate at which a parent element decays. The age of a rock in years is called its absolute age.You can look at the fossils the rock has too find what type of rock it is. In conclusion the article says that the age of rocks can depend on what type of rock it might be and in what period this rock was at.
