Are You Sure You Are Happy? To analyze something means to examine methodically and in detail the constitution of or structure of something. All angles and perspectives must be scrutinized. There is always a different way of evaluating something. This method is good for informational purposes and also helps the audience see how someone else interpreted the message. Which we will be doing to the documentary “Happy” directed by Roko Belic.
First reading the title “Happy” most viewers would assume the documentary will be all about one's happiness or just showing people being happy at all times. That's what I predicted. Belic traveled to a decent amount of countries to obtain this information. Belic first viewed a man who owned a rickshaw and every day he is dragging people around all day. There is a time that he is abused by passengers who are drunk, but he has to be humble himself because that is his only source of income. The man says after a long day from work for him to come home and her his child says his name makes him feel as if nothing matters except for his kids. Japanese people understand hard work. After World War 2 japan was forced to rebuild work economy back from the ground up. Japan is considered to have one of the wealthiest economies today. Belic showed japans problem with people over working themselves. So many Japanese people work long hours with little to no sleep which is working themselves to death. A woman in Japan had a husband who was always working and getting barely any sleep. He worked so much his daughter barely recognized him. The woman started to notice the man changing. He appeared to be more depressed and just out of it. The man died from over working
