Roswell July 8th 1947
On July 8th 1947 an unidentified flying object crashed at a ranch in Roswell, New Mexico. The owner of the ranch has remained officially unnamed, but witnesses Mr. and Mrs. Wilmot. Initially Mr. Wilmot decided not to let anyone know what he saw thinking that a sight like that was seen by someone else. He eventually told the officials at the RAAF (Roswell Army Air Field) of what he had seen. Eventually when word spread of the incident, conspiracies where formed about the wreckage. The most famous being that the ship was an alien UFO, and that it had been taken to Area 51, (another government operation surrounded with alien conspiracies).

The setting is in Roswell, New Mexico in 1999. This television series has three genres, which are drama, mystery, and romance. In the fictional series the town of Roswell is designed around the crash of 1947.
The series retells the historical event by flash forwarding to 1999, and implying that the aliens that are among the community of Roswell, New Mexico came from the crash of 1947 and have been roaming the community for years. The alien/human crossbreeds figure out that they were sent to earth for their destiny and then will return to their home planet.
The changes that were made to make this television series completely distort the facts from the event and have no significant historical impact on the crash of 1947; however, it does recognize the crash of 1947 and its impact on the city of Roswell.
The series focuses on Liz Parker, a human being, and Max Evans, an alien/human crossbreed, and their relationship. It also focuses on the other two-alien/human crossbreeds, Michael Guerin and Isabel Evans. The main purpose of the series is for Max, Michael, and Isabel to find their destiny while Liz helps
