I think more Deaf/deaf people use ASL other than SEE because they accept the Deaf/deaf culture which is way different than the english culture. ASL is a visual language with its own grammar, facial expressions, way to communicate. SEE is not a language. It’s just a visual form to the english language. I could see why some Deaf/deaf people have a problem with people using SEE instead of ASL. ASL was created so they could communicate with each other while SEE is just a visual form of english. After doing some more research it said that some deaf children should be taught sign exact english. It said that it could expand the child’s vocabulary and help them getter a better understanding of the english culture/their communication style. In some ways I agree with this because it definitely would help their understanding towards english, but then they don’t know about their own culture. They don’t know how to speak with other deaf/Deaf people. I believe that if a child was deaf that the parents should possibly consider SEE, but if they are Deaf they should definitely choose ASL because it would just fit better with the child and their surroundings rather than SEE. I think CSD doesn’t offer Sign Exact English as a language class because it’s
