1. What Is Self Harm?

Self-harm is when somebody intentionally damages or injures their body. It's usually a way of coping with or expressing overwhelming emotional distress.

1a. Why Do People Do It?

Sometimes when people self-harm, they feel on some level that they intend to die. Over half of people who die by suicide have a history of self-harm.

Different Types Of Self Harm

Some of you might not think this, but there are a few different types of self harm, some of them physical, some of them emotional etc. If you only know of the one type of self harm which is mainly physical self harm it might be good for you to read this list and know all the others as well. You might have a friend who is possibly doing one of these that you are not aware of:

Cutting Of The Skin,
Burning Of The Skin,
Punching Or Hitting Themselves,
Poisoning Thenselves With Pills Or Drugs,
Taking More Drugs Or Alcohol Than They Should Have,
Starving Themselves,
Binge Eating,

Believe it or not. These are all types of self harm. Not many people are aware of all of these types of self harm where as others are, some times they can be very hard to spot in a person if they do it in places that aren't often exposed because they are hidden by clothes or a bandage etc. People try to keep self harm as a secret because they feel scared or upset that if someone finds out it could ruin their life. Different Types Of Drugs

There are different types of drugs that I covered earlier, there are illegal drugs and medical drugs. Medical drugs are very helpful and you can't really get addicted to medical drugs as quickly as you can get addicted to illegal drugs. Some of the illegal drugs are,

Cocaine,
Cannabis,
Sedatives,
Hypnotics.

3e. Signs Of A Drug User

The signs for a drug user are more physical then emotional or physiological, the main effects are,

Bloodshot Eyes,
Pupils Are More Dialated
Sleep Pattern Changes,
Physical Apperance Changes,
Different Smells On Clothing Or Body Or Breath,

3f. Why People Do Drugs

People have a lot of reasons why they do drugs, some of the reasons are influenced by peer pressure or friends, sometimes people do drugs because they think it makes them look cool and other times people do it because it refiles things like stress or anger.
