Many are times that gangs are involved in inter-gang wars. Separation and isolation is one of the policies that have been used before to ensure that these gang members do not clash thus reducing the amount of violence that result from such clashes (Placido et.al, 2006). This has been one of the successful methods used to curb gang crimes as the members at correctional facilities often undergo psychosocial treatments and counseling that helps them accept their bad behaviors reconcile with the consequences and find solutions that would keep them off the gangs (Placido et.al, 2006). Often these gang members embrace dissociation and segregation of themselves with the gangs and most if the times turn to activities that raise money for their selves without being involved in gang related crimes. In correctional facilities there is dictatorial leadership whereby inmates do not have the democracy to choose but with time the facilities are changing, giving inmates freedom to engage in activities that help in their rehabilitation.
