Offenders must also register AP&P board, even if they are not on parole anymore they must be registered with a local law enforcement entity either the sheriff’s office or police department. In some of my research that I have done about the Utah sex offender registry it actually seems that Utah is the most relaxed. I think it is fair to have requirements to stay away from minors, and their families. It is fair because they committed a crime and they should have to live with the consequences. They must go through the AP&P board to regain the trust again, before they are allowed to get off of the registry. Of course this is only allowed if you fall under the 10 year offenses. Utah allows, if you are not charged with having to register for a lifetime to be able to petition to be removed from the sex offender registry after 10 years. While not the most severe of offenses that are on the list I still find it interesting that kidnapping and unlawful sexual activity with a minor are offenses that allow you to be able to get off of the sex offender registry after 10 years. But the State of Utah does have some requirements before you can actually petition to be released off of the list, such as if you had
