A) Mr. Jamison has time to get T.J. to Strawberry for trial. Mr. Granger stops T.J.s hanging by getting everyone to put out the fire. This gives Mr. Jamison a distraction to get T.J. away from the mob. It also stops the mobs anger at T.J. for a moment.
B) 1)The fire provides a solution to the problem since it distracts everyone. 2)For example, page 272 states, "And folks started running all over the place for shovels and things, then all of them cut back down the road..." 3)This shows that since the fire broke out, everyone forgot about T.J. and started finding things to help fight the fire. 4)The fire saved T.J.'s life for the time being since less people cared about hanging T.J., and more people cared about saving the land. 5)In conclusion, the fire that breaks out is a wonderful solutions to the problem since nobody gets hurt and everybody is safe in the end.

2)On page 255 it says that the men wanted to hang not only T.J. but Mr. Morrison and Papa too. 3)This shows that if Papa goes after Stacey and is caught he could be hanged. 4)This also shows how much Papa cares about Stacey to risk himself for Stacey. 5)This is why Papa is in danger when he goes to get
