To recover mentally after someone dies who may were close to you will never be easy. If the person had an effect and a place in your life there will automatically develop a black hole in your life where person where supposed to be. Before the mind and body can be able to find closure and meaning in this loss, your mind have to find a way to cope with this horrible and unbearable loss. It is our minds way to save us from ourselves, so we can live through it. All individuals handle with this hole in their life in their own way. That is because we all grieve and find the meaning in life very differently. Some people simply stop digesting food and take care of their daily life responsibilities, like a job or other profession. The only thing Annie did not exspect to loss were her father, but even him she did not get to keep. So to cope with her loss of her father she begins to see supernatural visions of him in her daily life. The visions has a very clear impact on her decisions and mind that sorrounds her life. It seems like Annie simply just acknowledge and accept the existence of her father’s ghost in her life so suddenly. It says a lot about how Annie is coping and handling the loss of her father. The narrators mind can not make closure of the loss in her life so she is unconsciously creating visions of her father, who is giving her support and fatherly advices even though it is only her minds voice in her head. It has an affect on Annies behavior in her daily life, wich also includes her relations to other individuals like her relationship to her boyfriend Thomas. After she has a couples of visions of her father where he does not like Thomas it has an affect on Annie so she breaks up with Thomas andn realizes at the same time that they could never have a longstanding relationship beause of Thomas caractherisation signs wich according to Annie were very alike her younger brothers
