Two novels that have both similarities and differences are Wonder and Because of Mr. Terupt have a lot of similarities and differences.
The novel Because of Mr. Terupt written by Rob Buyea tells the story of seven kids and their year with their 5th grade teacher, in the book Mr.Terupt suffers a terrible accident.
The novel Wonder by R.J Palacio is centered around August Pullman who is 10 year-old boy who was born with facial deformities. Ever since he has was little he has been homeschooled, but know he has has to go 5th grade. The book shows how Auggie manuevers his way around school and how he makes friends.
While analyzing these books I noticed a lot of similarities in the author’s …show more content…
Even though both book have multiple point of view they both accomplish different goal. The author used multiple points of view in order to get the reader’s predicting. Compared to Because of Mr.Terupt R.J Palacio uses the use of multiple points of view differently. In Wonder the author doesn’t let the points of view overlap on events. The author doesn’t let the reader see what different characters are thinking during each event in the book. This get the reader’s predicting because the reader’s don’t know what each character is thinking. The author also uses multiple points of view so the reader can get to know the character. The reader’s are introduced to the character through other points of view, but the reader really gets to know the character in their own chapter because we can see how what a character is thinking and their reactions. The main example of this is Via, the reader learns about Via in Auggie’s chapter and Justin’s chapter but the reader really sees what Via thinks about Auggie’s condition and about her life. In Because of Mr.Terupt the reader can’t learn about the character in the same way. One theme that I saw in both books was the theme of friendship. In the both book the theme of friendship is the theme that shines through, in Wonder the theme of friendship shows after both Auggie and Jack become friends and well as Auggie and Summer. In Because of Mr.Terupt each character in the book starts a friendship. In both books the friendship that are made in both book affects each character in a positive way though they all affect the characters. In Because of Mr.Terupt the friendships that Alexia made with Danielle,Anna and Jessica made her more confident about herself. In Wonder the friendships that Auggie made with Jack Will and Summer made him realize that it’s ok to be himself and people will eventually accept you. All the friendship made in both book made each character stronger, this could be the theme that friendship make people
