In the book “Animal Farm” by George Orwell, the actions and personas of the farm animals represent events and people under infamous dictatorships throughout history. This is especially shown under the dictator of the farm, Napoleon. Orwell personified the boar with important characteristics from several major dictators of the day. The most prominent of those is Napoleon’s resemblance to Joseph Stalin, the totalitarian leader of the Soviet Union. Personality wise, Stalin and Napoleon are both manipulative, strong leaders who put the sake of the state and themselves before the people, or in this case animals.
