Catherine McAuley showed strong morality and values while serving as a disciple of Jesus. Four core values that Catherines life displayed that the Sisters of Mercy now root themselves in are spirituality, community, service, and social justice and critical concerns. McAuley also followed five virtues very closely. These virtues were zeal, charity, humility, purity of intention, and confidence in God. These virtues gave Catherine the strength to achieve her goals, put God and others above herself, enlightened her soul, and have complete faithfulness in her religious beliefs which led her to trust the idea of starting her own congregation.…
