Sitting Bull had experienced a lot of ups and downs, he had to earn the title “Chief”. As his life carried on, Sitting Bull fought in a lot of battles including the Battle of the Little Big Horn, which gave him more experience, each time learning something new. He eventually became a member of the Midnight Strong Heart society, which was an elite group of worthy warriors. He did so by showing true bravery and power against the enemies. Sitting Bull’s struggles with the expansion of the American nation is what shaped his life. Sitting Bull was brave, powerful and one of the greatest spiritual leaders of any Native American tribe (Dockstader). From being one of the weakest in his tribe to killing his first buffalo at ten years old (Sitting Bull) to earning his first coup and to becoming Chief of a whole nation, Sitting Bull honored his father and lived up to the name he had given him. Chief Sitting Bull had earned the respect of an enormous amount of people and he is still to this day respected and thanked for his sacrifices he had made while being chief of the Lakota
