Pain shoots through every part of me that hit the hillside covered in sharp, pointed sticks, and large, uneven rocks. Finally, the rolling stops my face planted in the dirt, as I pushed myself upward, my family was already at the top of the hill screaming at me “ARE YOU ALRIGHT, HE DEFINITELY BROKE SOMETHING.” There voices sounded like I was underwater. Only one thought raced through my head, “why didn’t you wait until you knew how to do this”. That painful moment all started one day when i was playing my tony hawk video game in my dark room. “lane your uncle Derek is coming tomorrow to spend the day with …show more content…
So i knew I would have to be careful. I was not very careful. I pushed off slightly because i was not at the edge of the hill yet, as it started to pick up speed the right wheel started to violently shake and when I went to lean to turn, the wheel suddenly broke off with a snap and a grind of metal against cement. Then it stopped suddenly and I was flung forward off the side of the hill and started to roll down hitting and scraping the sharp rocks and sticks and eventually stopped at the bottom. I was in so much pain, every where I moved it sent pain shooting all through me. I started to get up after laying there for a few minutes with my family yelling at the top of the hill at me. I started to get up but when I put pressure on my hand it was horrible pain. I looked down and saw that my finger was dislocated and off to the side at a weird angle . I knew that if my mom or my grandma saw it they would freak out, so I decided to pop it back in myself. I braced myself with all the strength I had to keep calm. Grabbing my finger with a firm grip I pulled up and snapped it back to the side, As I fought back a scream a thought raced through my head like what if it was broken and I just made it

As I waited in line, John was grabbing ice balls the size of my hand, then throwing them at my back. Without anything to throw back him, I felt as helpless as an amputee in a war-zone. I use to pretend to go grocery shopping and being a parent at times. At the age of eight, I had worn the worst pain ever and that was watching my five, year old brother getting hit by a car while trying to cross the street riding a bicycle that had a loose chain. I remember him trying to get up and get to me, but a few adults that had witnessed the accident had told him to lay down.…

It didn’t make it any better that I was beyond tired. Dragging my feet as I walked, eyes barely open, I was a living zombie. The sun burnt into my eyes worse than a death stare from a hungry gray wolf, in some spots it was like a harsh winter evening, and sometimes if you moved ten feet you would start to sweat a waterfall and would have to move back to the shade. It wasn’t a good day for my service project. Especially with the fact that it was at the end of the week, and I had just gotten off a bone chilling first guide in Fort Mackinac.…
